RADIO ROSSII / VOICE OF RUSSIA
I found Radio Rossii at 2030 //9490 (Tbilisskaya) on unlisted 11735 until
close down at 2100. Registration is "Serpukhov 240 kW", so I assume 11735 to
originate from one of the 250 kW transmitters in Moscow area, which carrys
Radio Rossii until 1700 on 17660 and until 1800 on 13705 respectively. If
so, 11735 should sign on at either 1730 or 1830. I was already surprised,
that there should be no evening transmissions of Radio Rossii from the
Moscow transmitters to Central Europe anymore; in last winter season 6045
was used tonight. (Kai Ludwig, July 12)

Sometimes wonder happens... Since 1994 the Tbilisskaya site was getting the
VoRussia German service through a faulty feeder line with high-pitched
audio, ending up the first-class quality of 11980 (winter 7360), which was
in 1993
booming in here with an enormous level (I guess, at this time operated with
one of the PKV-500 units). Recently this aggravated to a completely shifted
audio frequency spectrum, making any program listening impossible. But now I
was falling out of my chair: 15485 (which in the current summer season
replaced the long-standing 11980) suddenly has again clear audio, as it was
nearly five years ago the case. Maybe the guys now maked short work a replaced
the ill cable carrier by another, non-shifted sound channel. Hopefully this
was a lasting fix. By the way, a Berlin listener told me, that he is
familiar with such high-pitched audio feeds. Before AFN had radio and
satellite links to western Berlin, they had also sometimes this problem on
the cable line (the GDR-post was needed by occupying power to feed AFN to
western Berlin and the other way round RIAS to their Hof transmitter - maybe
through the same cables than the 904/935 clannie programs...).(Kai Ludwig,
